Intertwine x Fashion @ Brown

This was a project that I shot and edited for the Brown University Fashion @ Brown organization in collaboration with the Intertwine Dance Group. This project gave me the opportunity to collaborate with another videographer and shoot handheld in a fast-paced environment.

In addition to overcoming challenges in the shooting process, editing this project was a valuable experience in working under a strict deadline and meeting the specifications and expectations of the organizations I was working for.

Spring Weekend 2022

Lineup Release Video

This was a short piece I put together to play at the Lineup Release party for Spring Weekend 2022. By combining custom graphics work with footage and music from the different artists that we had hired for the festival, I put together this exclusive announcement video that introduced the student body to that year’s Spring Weekend lineup for the first time.

A Cycle of Suffering was a short documentary project that I shot on the United States-Mexico border in the summer before college. The goal of this project was to document the perspective of asylum-seekers on both sides of the border via interviews and footage, while using archival footage and research to put those perspectives into the broader context of the historical and political conflict at the border.

This project was my first taste of how documentary filmmaking can open the eyes of not only the audience but the filmmaker to new perspectives and ideas. This was my first time shooting abroad, and strengthened my skills as an interviewer, researcher, and documentarian.

Slay, Queen

Slay, Queen was a short, collaborative horror film that I shot with some friends my freshman year of college. In the interest of maintaining our artistic vision for the film, I was forced to overcome challenges in using natural lighting, untrained actors, and a limited crew. This film was also an experience in collaboration, as it was my first time working with a musician and helping create an original score for the film. It was also my introduction to Adobe After Effects, which I used to create the film’s gruesome final shot.
